Protect your garden year around with simple and economical bed coverings. No need to let your plants suffer from weather or insect damage. With these pre-bent hoops made from 1/2" (EMT) conduit and steel stakes you can easily protect your plants from freezing temperatures, excessive summer heat, insect damage and even excessive wind. (sand bags may be needed as well). Hoops are installed every four feet and can be covered with clear plastic, freeze cloth, insect screen or shade cloth. With this design the covering can be easily slid up to uncover the bed on nice days to let fresh air and sunlight in. The hoops can easily be removed from the bed as needed leaving the stakes in place for a quick re-install. Pictures show hoops covering a 4' X 32' raised bed, but these can be used to cover anything in the ground as well.
Bottom photo is Bok Choy Jan 12, 2010. After several weeks of below freezing temperatures outside, a few days at or below zero they are in great shape.
